We got the word in the prestigious magazine Czech car industry

The editors also noticed us. In November 2023, the prestigious magazine Český autoprůmysl published an article about Tiyo, one of the largest accredited laboratories in the Czech Republic focused on the automotive industry. Take a look at the most interesting information in the interview.

At the forefront of testing batteries for electric vehicles

As Petr Havlík, a member of Tiyo's board of directors, pointed out in the article, we have invested heavily in the area of battery testing for electric vehicles. A specially developed container measuring 3 × 7 × 2 meters allows for safe testing of battery modules, including extreme situations where they overheat or are damaged.

"At the end of the process, the tested cell usually burns up, but we are prepared for that, safety is assured."

PETR HAVLÍK - CEO

The most complex project:
e-compressors of the future

Michal Ježek, our technical team manager, described the most interesting project we are currently working on as the testing of electric compressors. It is a complex project combining various types of tests from material to chemical to mechanical. Petr Havlík added an interesting fact: "In the field of compressor testing we can be at the birth of groundbreaking technologies. For example, we are testing unique products that are used to drive oxygen in the air into fuel cells or even hydrogen combustion engines."

EMC chamber for electromagnetic compatibility testing

And what other know-how were we happy to reveal to the editors? For example, as of 2022, Tiyo has an EMC anechoic chamber, which allows it to measure the unwanted radiation of products under test in laboratory conditions and to verify their immunity to electromagnetic radiation from other devices.

We could not fail to mention the facilities

The article also notes that our company owns more than 70 climate chambers of various sizes, including the largest with a volume of 110 m³, which can hold the entire body and the entire car. This extensive equipment allows us to carry out tests in parallel, which speeds up the entire testing process. And we are proud of that.

It's also about people. And their noses

This interesting fact could not fit in the text either. We use a so-called scent panel to investigate odours in Tiyo car interiors. This is a group of trained "sniffers" who work with the Škoda Auto quality department. In addition to the sense of smell, human eyesight is also used in testing, especially when checking colours, which must not show any variations even after prolonged exposure to various influences.

What is our way

The article also presented the thirty-year history of the company, which was founded in 1993 under the name SWELL. Gradually it became part of the international Altran and Capgemini groups, until the latest change in September 2023, when the management team (Petr Havlík, Jaromír Kejval, Milan Křovina) together with BHS Private Equity Fund became the new owners. With this came a new brand and name: Tiyo.

From the original single customer, Mladá Boleslav Škoda, our company's portfolio has grown to 275 active customers, mainly from the automotive industry. We currently work with more than seventy members of the Automotive Industry Association under the Tiyo brand.

The article was based on an interview published in the magazine Czech Industry in November 2023 under the patronage of Autosap.
