15 - BUMPER IMPACT TESTING (PENDULUM TEST)

Our bumper pendulum testing facility evaluates structural integrity during low-speed collisions (1-7 km/h) using a precisely controlled impact system. The adjustable pendulum supports impactor weights from 700-3500 kg with vertical positioning from 370-700 mm, providing impact speed accuracy of ±0.05 km/h below 5 km/h. Testing accommodates both component-level evaluation on instrumented trolleys and complete vehicle assessment in our 3,5 m³ and 45 m³ climate-controlled chambers (-40 °C to +90 °C). High-speed cameras (5000 fps) capture detailed deformation behavior throughout the impact event.
Our facility features calibrated speed trap systems eliminating pre-test adjustments, acceleration sensors for crash event monitoring, and load cells measuring force distribution across impact areas. Results evaluation includes advanced photogrammetry using GOM or Aicon systems. The CE-marked, TÜV-certified test equipment complies with global standards including US Part 581, ECE-R42, CMVSS 215, and various national regulations, providing comprehensive validation for international market approval and homologation pre-testing.
