The motorsport festival is approaching, and Tiyo
will be there again

The Hořice testing laboratory is a long-standing partner of the legendary race. Just ahead of this year’s event, it will unveil a new regional app.

The 63rd edition of the Gustav Havel 300 Curves race will feature an exciting program and a strong international field. More than 200 racers are set to gather in Hořice on May 23 and 24. Tiyo is a long-standing partner of the race and the organizers from AMK Hořice, and the company will be present at this year’s event as well. Just before the race, they will unveil a new app, tyjovyzva.cz.

“Our company will be thirty-three this year, and the legendary race will be sixty-three. Naturally, we’ve known each other for a long time. We therefore consider continuing our long-standing regional partnership with AMK - which began back in the SWELL days - to be a certain social obligation. And at the same time, it’s a joy, because under the Tiyo brand, it has taken on a whole new dimension and flair,” says Tiyo co-owner Petr Havlík.

A Superb in Tiyo colors will drive around the Hořice circuit during breaks; there will be banners along the route and at the starting tower, and an advertising spot will run during the online broadcast. The company’s logo will also appear on the tickets.

New regional app

In 2024, Tiyo invited track organizers and racing teams to tour its testing laboratory. The feedback from more than fifty visitors was enthusiastic. “Our brand then appeared not only on the track or during the awards ceremony for the 300cc class, for which we sponsor the trophy, but also on original drink cups that directed visitors via a QR code to the mobile app we had prepared,” explains Petr Havlík.

Thanks to the app, everyone could virtually race on the Hořice circuit and, moreover, learn interesting facts about each turn directly from eyewitnesses and racers. “This year, we’ve taken this concept a step further and developed it into a new regional web app, tyjovyzva.cz, which we’ll fully launch before the races,” hints Tiya’s co-owner.

There’s another reason for supporting the race. Many of the employees are motorcyclists; some have even raced in the past or been part of the organization. “Well, and above all, there’s a lot of work around the race bikes all year round in workshops and garages, which requires skilled hands, knowledge, and above all, experience in both mechanical engineering and electronics,” says Petr Havlík.

That is precisely the combination that mechanics and engineers need every day, even in Tiyo’s development and testing facility. “Maybe someone else among the race track visitors will notice our new white car with the tyjovyzva.cz graphics, which will eventually lead them to our team. There, they can then enjoy the racing atmosphere while working on aviation or automotive development projects practically every day,” he adds.

Ninety years since the first race

This year’s 63rd edition will mark the 90th anniversary of the first Gustav Havel 300 Curves race in Hořice. Organizers expect 220 riders from 12 countries to participate. The entire Czech elite will be in attendance, including Marek Červený, Karel Pešek, and Petr Najman. British rider Garry Johnson, a two-time winner of the famous Isle of Man TT, will also be there.

A major new feature is the inclusion of the ESR European Championship in the Superbike category. The Sidecar category will have a full starting grid. “Crucial to hosting this year’s event was the reconstruction of a large section of the track surface, which had become impassable for racing,” said Tomáš Jenčovský, chairman of the organizing AMK Hořice.
