While Scandinavia was the focus of the hockey world this May, we didn't head to northern Europe for the sport. The Czech Battery Cluster organized a trade mission to Norway in May 2025, which was attended by Jaromír Kejval, CTO of Tiyo.
The aim of the trip was to connect Czech and Norwegian experts in the field of battery technology and to establish future cooperation. Norway, with its rich experience in electromobility and advanced battery technologies, is an interesting partner for Czech companies.

It was an honor. As Tiyo, we were the only representative of commercial industrial entities in the delegation. And how can we be of value to our partners?
We have been operating on the domestic and European market since 1993 and have an accredited laboratory according to ISO/IEC 17025. Our own production area exceeds 6,000 m² and we employ over 160 people. We carry out more than 2,000 projects annually for the automotive, aerospace and railway industries. In the field of battery technology, we offer services such as lithium battery enviromental and electrical testing, battery thermall ruaway emmision analyses or baterry abuse testing.

The mission also included meetings with the Norwegian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Trondheim.
The Czech Embassy in Oslo provided diplomatic support to the mission. "The development of battery technology in Europe is of strategic importance. It is a pleasure for the Czech Embassy to support the visit of the Czech Battery Cluster to Norway in exploring opportunities for cooperation."

After the visits, a link was established between Czech and Norwegian experts throughout the battery chain. ‘The battery communities of the Czech Republic and Norway are now well connected and ready for future cooperation,’ stated the Czech Embassy.
The mission lays the foundations for joint research projects, technological innovation and business cooperation. This cooperation comes at a time when Europe is striving for greater self-sufficiency in battery technology.
The Czech Battery Cluster was founded in 2022 as an interest association. Its aim is to ensure partnership between the public and private sectors and to promote cooperation between private companies, research and the public sector.
CBK focuses on real projects for the development of a zero-emission economy, technological transformation of industry, scientific and technical projects, support for innovative entrepreneurship and international cooperation. It promotes effective cooperation, the creation of new know-how linked to individual parts of the value chain and the creation of new spin-offs and start-ups.
By linking the scientific and private spheres, it contributes to increasing the competitiveness of its members by promoting technical education for the 21st century with a focus on developing talent according to market needs.
